And What Does That Make Jon Stewart?
According to some dude’s Flickr account, the above billboard advertisement is running in Minneapolis leading up to, and for the duration of, the Republican National Convention. Notice that the ad itself contains five rich white people, but no actual oligarchs, unless the rumors are true, and Samantha Bee really is Jon Stewart’s grandmother. In which case, satirical political television is dominated by a select group of nepotistic New York comedy writers.
I wonder what funny signage is running in Denver, and if it’s anywhere near as witty and self-aware as the Daily Show’s?

The racial make-up of the Daily Show staff is also a joke about the media (You know, pundits who make more money than either McCain or Obama asking aloud if the candidates are elitists). Rich, white oligarchs obviously refers to the Republican party which is notorious for being intolerant of anyone different and benefits those born into wealth.
You’re just another example why blogs are more useful as a propoganda tool than a source of news. But, I guess as long as you feel important, carry on. You must have tens of readers.

We all know there are no rich white intolerant democrats

Wait–the ad refers to Republicans and not the staff of the Daily Show?
*Sarcasm taking effect in 5, 4, 3, 2…*
No. Fucking. Duh.
And what party maligns people “born into wealth”?

Actually, the ad is pretty much mocking both. As much of the Daily Show humor does.

I ran into Wyatt the new guy on monday, walked behind him on the way to the media area for about five minutes. No fewer than five people had the same reaction: “Daily Show right? Rock on!”

Yeah where’s Wyatt on that billboard? Or Larry Wilmore for that matter? IMO, those two and Aasif Mandvi are the most consistently funny people on that show, especially compared to the painfully mediocre Sam Bee and Rob Riggle. Wyatt got dissed!

Whoa, Sam Bee mediocre? You are out of your mind.

I’ve got mixed feelings about Sam Bee, and I think I can trace them to her strange chin. In other words, she’s funnier when I close my eyes.
