Liz - just keep doing what your doing. Ignore the haters. City Paper would be screwed if they responded to every negative remark against the staff. Dc is full of self-loathing folks who feed off the destruction of others. Most are transplants or just stinking there way through from the upper Northeast.

I personally look forward to what you have to say. Im hating the haters.

Actually, the commenters really aren't that much happier. Liz has actually just started hard deleting comments. In short, any comment that doesn't kiss her ass is just thrown into the ether, never to be seen unless you see it before she finds delete.

Not good.

Hi Andrew,

I did email you several days ago, as you can see below.

I deleted comments because the first day I had three inquiries about my boobs (I guess the commenters were smart enough to infer that I might have them, more or less, from my feminine name) and two racists statements about Hispanics (I am Hispanic, but I think the commenters were just being generally mean). I've also been called a cunt and you know, the usual stuff.

They treated Rusty worse, if you go back in the archives. They even attacked his girlfriend, personally. Because of what had happened to him, I figured the best thing to do would be to not tolerate them at all.

Besides, Why I Hate DC shouldn't be, "Why I hate EVERYONE ELSE" in D.C. Most of the people who are complaining the most about transplants ARE transplants. Most of the people complaining about tools at the bar are AT THE SAME BAR. Get over yourselves.

Anyway, I think you missed two important points:

1) The commenters treated Rusty worse.

2) A blog is not public property, and name-calling is not free speech. I don't owe the trolls a forum for racist, sexist and stupid remarks.
