Muriel should learn that money can't buy you love!
It's clear to me to that she likes the money she gets from the higher ups and clear to me that she plays their needs against those in the 'hood.
While we are out here walking for safer neighborhoods she is attending receptions in glass houses raking in the green!

Everyone needs to not only come out and vote but donate time AND funds to the Council challengers. Totally agree with Q that campaign funds do not equal a commitment to the Ward - if anything those with a financial stake in the race (Barry) are less likely to advocate for their own people in favor of lining their own pockets.

Charles Wilson (www.wesetthetone.com) may be on the "friend and family" plan but no one can accuse him of being someone's paid puppet either.

A change in Ward 8 is going to have to come FROM the people FOR the people.

Get out there and vote ...better still get out their and donate.

Thanks for the info. As for Ward 7 and the WaPo article, it seems that MONEY not actual work (or potential for it) will win these elections. Would City Paper please join in and send the message for folks to GET OUT AND VOTE. DC's voter apathy keeps the spineless in office and allows the one's with hidden agendas to get there. Hopefully 2008 will send the message to Fenty and Gray that if they don't improve, they should be packing their bags in 2010. I'll save my comments about the candidates for the "Primary Edition" that City Paper puts out, but I will say this...High campaign donations are not a sign of competance or ability to lead/represent.
