More money, less Fenty and likely a management structure where he will be listened to. DDOT needs to go to a top city and hire the best.

Fenty can't get too salty about the poach, seeing as he did the same thing to Metro with Tangherlini.

Kathleen Penney would be a nightmare replacement. The mayor needs to bring in someone from Portland, New York or Seattle. Someone who is going to develop a comprehensive plan for intermodal transportation, rather than relying on car-based solutions for the city.

We need a better evaluation and implementation of bike lanes, of "flag areas", of pedestrian signals and other progressive traffic management solutions.
