We have covered this ground before. Pardon me, but Stein's refusal to allow follow-up questions is not going to stop me from following up. I come from a large and boisterous family and if I have to yell to avoid being drowned out, so be it. I am not going to sit there and allow politician's bullshit to go unchallenged. As to your patronizing references, DeBonis, my lengthy record of effective activism does not get erased just because you don't like my passion or tone of voice. Anyone observing the proceedings last night ought to be more scandalized by what might be called the Stein Club's "easy virtue." Muriel Bowser quite provable DID mischaracterize Jim Graham's club relocation bill, which did not guarantee that any club could relocate--it only gave them a chance to try.

The subsequent comments on the same subject by Kwame Brown at least did not mischaracterize the bill, though Kwame ignored the fact that the eminent-domain seizure of the land for the ballpark effectively erased the entire gay club zone. Unlike the straight-oriented nude dancing clubs, the gay ones were clustered in the same neighborhood. But I give Kwame credit, as did Philip Pannell, for having publicly rebuked the anti-gay bigotry that was unleashed in Ward 5 last year due to the demagoguery of the Councilmember from that ward. In GLAA we have a history of giving credit where it is due, and not only criticism.
