Dumbass Theological Question of the Day
I’ve been stuck in four Pope-related traffic jams over the last 18 hours — the weirdest coming this morning when I was caught behind a dirty Metro bus on P Street as a full load of MPD cops got off. And during each stuckage, I mulled over mysteries that have doubtless been mulled over at least since the last pontiff took a bullet in 1981:
Why would a Pope need mortals to protect him? Who’s really in charge here?

That’s no more dumbass a theological question than when my exterminator got caught in the papal traffic jam, and I wondered why the Vatican didn’t want me to get the mouse out of my wall….

As Bill Hicks once said, the bulletproof Popemoblie truly is faith in action.

The question you asked can also be asked another way; How is it possible for a perfect being to possess both properties of omniscience and omnipotence since in reality they contradict each other.A being cannot be both however to be perfect this being must possess both.
So,If this perfect being knows in advance that the pope will be shot and killed during his visit to America he can’t change it because he is omniscience and it’s impossible for a perfect being to know false imformation about the future. If this perfect being can change it then he cannot be omniscience because he changed something he knew to be true.
So,It’s up to the police to protect the pope because this perfect being cannot do so because of his nature and essence.Hope this clears up the matter.

F.C. Sanders:
Nah, FC, doesn’t clear anything up. Sorry, but it kinda just runs in the same circles I was already running in. But thanks for trying!
