Our Morning Roundup

*What? You haven’t read the New York Times profile of Chris Matthews, which was leaked to FishbowlDC on Tuesday and posted on the New York Times on Wednesday?

*Bush is cutting army tours from 15 months to 12. Read about it in the Washington Post.

*Barack Obama apparently is not giving the time of day to the LGBT press, reports the Politico.

*Damn woman. You out already? Katie Couric might be leaving CBS, Howard Kurtz reports.

*I read this week’s New Yorker essay on George Clooney for one reason: to see if the New Yorker could rise above every other publication that’s written about George Clooney and actually say something that isn’t completely obvious about the guy. After much thought and deliberation, I decided they did. Judge for yourself.

i love this picture. i really don’t like Katie Couric as a nightly news anchor, and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. i think i would feel the same way if they put Matt Lauer in that chair. (or sitting on the desk, as the case may be.)
