What's so interesting is all the calculations that go into attending the national convention. What does all this upper echelon manuevering mean to the electorate and how does it translate to the "bread and butter" issues we deal with day in and day out. Can we get some real "change"-locally?!

Thanks for the mention.

Since gender balance is about *balance*, being a male is actually a slight advantage at the moment, since the existing DC delegation (excluding alternates) consists of 17 women and 15 men (because so many of the DNC members living in DC are women). So the 7 delegates remaining to be selected (2 pledged PLEOs, 2 unpledged add-ons, and 3 pledged at-large) should be either 5 men and 2 women or 4 men and 3 women.
