Weekend in Review (WIR)

All kinds of stuff happening around town--marathons, baseball stadium openings, blossoms. Means there's lots of stories to follow, as well.

*Prince of Petworth opens an interesting discussion on the upcoming bike rental program piloted by d. downtown. The question at hand is whether people will use the bikes. No cabbie strike over this issue yet, though I wouldn't put it past them.

*DC Blogs is pushing people in town to observe Earth Hour, tho this issue will be pretty much, though: Those who observe Earth Hour around here will miss the first hour of Nats v. Atlanta, and the opening night of Nationals Park.

*I can't imagine anyone's going to really care about the "gotcha" that the Washington Post tacked on Barack Obama this weekend. The offense involves exaggerating something about the role of the Kennedy family in helping his fa...zzzzzz.

*The Washington Times is getting deep into video, including this clip by the paper's Peter Lockley, previewing the fan experience at Nationals Park. Lockley could have dressed a bit better for the part, and his vid drew this comment from a viewer: "Tuck your shirt in before you start filming you are representing your newspaper and you want to put on a good image to people who see the video." Perhaps Lockley could learn a little something from this video phenom.

*Wonkette is working the weekend with this post on the Dem delegate mayhem in Texas.
