<description>MPNA has gathered more information and here is where our community work begins. Please check for updates at our community website at: www.mtpleasantdc.org/forum. Check under "General Announcements."

MPNA will be collecting donations Saturday, March 19, at the park at 19th and Lamont Streets from 10:00 am to 11:30 am where we are having our Spring Egg Hunt. Let's hope for good weather.

Neighbors' Consejo is taking food and clothing donations at 3118 16th St, NW. Please consider making a donation. Here is the list of things that Neighbors' Consejo most needs:
trash bags
school supplies
baby formula
diapers
clean clothes -- particularly for kids of all ages
maternity clothes -- three of the displaced are pregnant
blankets
cribs
gift cards
You can reach Evar Sandoval at (202) 234-6855 for more details.

Emergency Cash Donations - Pfeiffer's Hardware is a collection point. Many people have asked how they can give cash assistance to victims of the fire. The Columbia Heights Shaw Family Support Collaborative is taking donations for a fund to pay for emergency shelter as well as other urgent necessities like medications people lost.

You can make checks payable to the Columbia Heights Shaw Family Support Collaborative and drop them off at Pfeiffer's Hardware at 3219 Mt. Pleasant Street.

Everyone is being housed at 1480 Girard Street NW. Please make donations and offers of assistance there. There is a Mr. Payne who is coordinating services for the displaced. Many of the District's service agencies are already there and their most pressing concern is to find housing for these folks. Adult clothing, men and women, shoes, socks, baby clothes, and baby supplies are also needed (strollers, cribs, formula, etc.) Children will probably also need toys to comfort them.
