"“I oppose the Congressional Gold Medal for Rosa Parks Act”"

Ron Paul has voted against every Congressional Gold Medal, he is usually the only one voting no. They cost 30,000 dollars of tax payers money. He has on numerous occasions suggested that everyone put up $100 and congress could pay for them. There are never any takers.

<i>Flip-flops? Show me a flip-flop by DOCTOR Ron Paul in over 30 years in politics. Just one. Ever.</i>

"[Martin Luther King] was not only a world-class adulterer, he also seduced underage girls and boys....lying socialist satyr....world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours....flagrant plagiarist with a phony doctorate." - Ron Paul, 1991, in a newsletter which he authored and later tried to blame on an anonymous ghost-writing staffer, putting himself in the position of having to choose between being a racist conspiracy-monger or an incompetent newsletter publisher.

"I oppose the Congressional Gold Medal for Rosa Parks Act" - Ron Paul, 1999, casting the sole vote against the medal for Rosa Parks and lamely attempting to mask his racist rhetoric behind the facade of libertarianism.

"Rosa Parks is one of my heroes. Martin Luther King is a hero." - Ron Paul, 2006, trying to make money of his MLK Day moneybomb.

Screw Ron Paul. Thank God that fascist confederate ass and his neo-nazi book advertising campaign disguised as presidential run are on the way out, though I wouldn't mind if he milked his credulous cult of followers for a little more cash so they can't afford any more guns or dialup access.

Read the comments to this post and you see why the Paulistas cannot organize a March on Washington. Each follower looks at the candidate’s very blank slate and sees the scrawled negation of his most irksome laws and regulations. Who could herd these caterwauling cats?

Watching the MSM's smear campaign, coming close to libel in some cases, against Ron Paul congeal like yesterday's oatmeal, I was rather surprised to find a two-bit blog launching fresh "crackpot" claims. So comes the influx of Ron Paul supporters with their rebuttals. On the Washington City Paper's part, what a cheap attempt for attention. It is also a significant insight into your character, Mr. Cherkis, that you find the concept of a sound dollar, a foreign policy that fosters peace, protecting our liberties and adherence to the Constitution good for "plenty of yuks." No matter, you and your cohorts are in the same boat as the Internet MSM. In their future, I see a return to the pre-Paul state of few visitors and little debate. How dull for all of you and your advertisers.

What the public must understand is that the City Paper is part of the establishment media against Ron Paul.

The whole primary season was just a game of political charades foisted on the country by our establishment media. Ron Paul couldn't win, why?, because the media kept repeating it over and over again. The public still buys into the game. The liberal and conservative media definitely enjoy the game of choosing our candidate for us.

McCain was given an incredible amount of coverage on the GOP side. Why, because he had some so much conservative support, right? Everyone knows, most conservatives favor McCain. Of course Hillary or Obama were the only "real" choice on the Democratic side, based again on media preferences. What happened to Gravel, Kucinich or even John Edwards? No, they didn't have a chance. Why, because the media said so.

The media obviously has a preference and the coverage is based on their decision.

Where was the City Paper report, on the University Of Texas rally, before the Texas primary for Ron Paul, where over 5,000 people showed up.

Why didn't the City Paper report on the rally in Philadelphia where over 5,000 people attended.

Why don't they cover Ron Paul rallies?, because in their journalistic world, Ron Paul doesn't have a chance. How do they know he doesn't have a chance? Because, they said so. Yes, the people failed to see through the charade this election. We'll be back for another shot, next time.

Meanwhile, we will be busy campaigning for four Congressional candidates, on a Ron Paul slate that won the GOP primary in Maryland. Did the City Paper stand up and notice the win by these four. Of course not, the City Paper already stated clearly, Ron Paul and his supporters can't win anything. Never mind the facts. When, Ron Paul supporters win something, just ignore it. We all know that these Ron Paul supporters are just crackpots and can't win anything.

The Washington City paper is just an echo chamber for the big media deciders. The whole election is just about choosing who will win, just like going to a horse race. Just bet/vote for the perceived winner, based on the media handicap of who will win.

I say to the media, thanks for choosing our candidate for us. I refuse to vote for your candidate. I and many others will write in Ron Paul or vote Libertarian or Constitution Pary.

Ron Paul has never flipped-flopped on ANYTHING.

BTW how crackpot does returning the dollar to the gold standard seem now? Well I suppose I am a crackpot myself for suggesting that the world's reserve currency is in its death throws.

Ignorance is indeed bliss.

You know you're right. It was quite psychotic of me to believe in freedom and liberty. I forgot when we stopped being a free country and became a democracy. My fault for not keeping track of that. Wait. Did the democracy step towards oligarchy make its completion yet or... never mind. I'm asking the wrong people. I forgot I'm dealing with people who'd burn the Constitution in order to protect the flag. Who wants us to support the troops who are fighting for freedoms we hate more than our enemies supposedly do.

Wait. I'm trying to figure out which partisan dictatorship you represent. I pegged you as part of the Terrorist Party, I mean, Republican Party when for all my lack of researching of you is concerned, you may be supporting the liberal dictatorship. That you view me as a category instead of a person. A number instead of a name. A race instead of a human. Dependent instead of independent.

Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't say "liberal". The idea behind liberalism is to liberate which is what Democrats never do. They call themselves "progressives" and that a great word for them. Considering their goal is to turn America into an oppressive third world country, I'd say they're "progressing" quite well.

Oh well. As long as you're sleeping, I'm satisfied.

Let's see here...

This posting contained no useful information or substantive analysis, an incomplete quote taken out of context and a smarmy disregard for important ideas.

It looks like someone's got what it takes to be a big-time journalist for the MSM!

I used to read your paper when I lived and work in the DC area. Frankly, I'm disappointed that you've compromised your intellectual and journalistic integrity by publishing a cheap shot, hit piece like this. Ron Paul is a lot of things, but definitely not a crack pot or a flip-flopper. Your paper used to be an interesting alternative to the garbage published in the Post and the Times, but now you've proven you're not an "alternative" at all. I bet you'll be the first and loudest to complain when McInsane, Osama, or Billary gets elected and more or less continues the nanny state policies of the current administration.

Don't blame us Ron Paul supporters, we warned you and you rejected truth, common sense, and most importantly, limited government based on the Constitution.

You guys just gave Ron Paul free publicity! The Revolution thanks you! 7.5 minutes -- that's 7.4 minutes longer than the attention span of most voters. If they actually listened to what their candidates were saying, they would drop them and vote for Ron Paul!
