Looking Glass Goes Upscale

In December, Temperance Hall changed ownership and became Looking Glass Lounge. You had to wonder if the Petworth watering hole was going to go upscale. A dedicated Hall staffer assured that in fact the prices would actually go down for certain beers. But still. Now we know. Prince of Petworth reports of a menu makeover that appears to omit vegetarian options in favor of $17 Grilled Salmon and a $16 steak. While these prices are not Citronelle prices, these items certainly don’t trend toward cheap neighborhood bar fare.

I can’t help but mourn the old menu. I want cheap.

it’s a shame, nothing stays cheap in this town for long. but hey, if people will pay it, i can’t blame the owners.

    Hi All,
As the new executive chef for The Looking Glass Lounge, I can assure everyone that there are, in fact, veggie options as well as more of them to come! As for the “old” veggie burger, we are going to start making them in house again very soon!!! In terms of price, I am very excited about being able to offer high quality food for a reasonable price. That said, even our new menu offers items starting at $5 bucks… not bad, even if I do say so myself. Stop on by and I’ll even chat with you about the menu!!!
