Fire at Woodson Senior High School

A fire disrupted classes this morning at Woodson Senior High School in Northeast. The flames broke out in a janitor’s closet on the 5th floor of the school building, which is located at 5500 Eads St. NE.

Washington City Paper columnist Mike DeBonis was on the scene and reports that authorities suspect that the incident was an act of arson. The flames were quickly extinguished and no one suffered any injuries. Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the fire.

School officials have evacuated the building but are planning to resume classes this afternoon.
