I think maybe the development took number one priority and no thought was given to the consequences for the veterans. Maybe the AFRH can come to their rescue (like they did for the AFRH members of Gulfport, MS after Hurricane Katrina) and provide emergency housing for the 51 displaced veterans at the DC AFRH facility while they expedite a modified master plan to build their Homeless Veteran facility first. (NOTE: at least 100 of those refugees from AFRH Gulfport have passed on)...I'm sure that emergency facilities could be constructed on the grounds with the help of the military services...it would mean that the veterans would have a chance to keep their jobs and continue their lives in relative safety and comfort.
