Beware the Red Rose
There are times, usually depressing ones, that call for jug wine. I recently bought a 3-liter screw-top bottle of Livingston Cellars red wine. Or so I thought. I accidentally grabbed the Red Rose. After a group of us excitedly poured the wine into our coffee mugs and tumblers, we discovered that it was…fizzy. Someone thought it tasted corked. Alas, there is no cork. The lesson to be learned is when buying jug wine, avoid rose. Actually, it’s probably best to stick with Carlo Rossi. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
