Bad Gift Idea #4
People wear scarves because they get cold in and around the neck and lower-face region. People wear vests with pockets because they don't quite need a full jacket but want some warmth and storage space in and around the torso.
Well, the people at Plow & Hearth apparently thought there was a need for something in between these two fashion staples. And the result is something that the company calls "Functional Neckwear." Here's the Plow & Hearth pitch: "Breeze through airport security and keep your hands free with a stylish scarf-like accessory that has more stash slots than a man's suit jacket."
Just $39.95.

$39.95 makes the average scarf quite an investment.

Sounds like something Elaine from Seinfeld would have to write about for the J. Peterman catalog.

Wemple I despise you as an editor and would love to see you fired but you are right, this is a terrible idea for a present.

Good for the cervical vertebrae, too.
Attention personal injury attorneys: nice set-up for a landmark pedestrian whiplash case.

My only memory from Seinfeld is that in one of Jerry's standup parts at the beginning or end, he says he wished he had pockets to put his hands into when he is naked. We have just taken one bold step towards fullfilling that visionary's dreams.

Well...I admire the person who tried this. It's always interesting to see people thinking outside the box. Nice try...but no dice.
