New Capitals Jerseys Leak?

Give credit to the Washington Capitals organization: It managed to keep the design for the team’s new red-white-and-blue themed jerseys under wraps until three days before the official “Uniform Unveiling and Draft Day Party.” But—after months’ worth of Internet speculation, Photoshop fakes, and fan-made designs—the real jersey has finally found its way to the public, courtesy of a certain savvy (and, at this point, probably banned) poster on the Caps’ message boards.

Special thanks to blogger Capsnut, who was quick enough to save the photos before the message-board moderators yanked the original thread.

If this is the actual jersey, i get to keep my wife happy as I won’t be spending a penny on them - they are terrible!

wow, another horrible hockey jersey. I really need to find a job with a company on the creative side of things because clearly someone else is being very overpaid.

    love it.
old school caps logo thats refreshed. jersey reminds me of the olympic style, which is awesome.
i also really appreciate the solid blocks of color and vertical stripes.
i never again want to see horrible jerseys like phoenix, those ugly penguin jerseys of old, or the islanders gordan fishersman….. this is clean, solid, and sharp. no terrible patterns, no horrible triangles of color…. hopefully the other teams came up with equally clean designs.

Not to be petty, but the pictures you (and everyone else) are using are screenshots that I grabbed.

I would appreciate credit for my work, which you’ve given to Capsnut.

Notfadeaway is my handle on the Caps’ message boards. I was suspended for several hours yesterday, and my posts deleted, because I linked to three screenshots.

  6. Stan Says:

OK Ken, or Notfadeaway, you get the credit. The credit for being another Internet weasel who thinks that spoiling surprises is great fun. There is a word for that - TROLL.

For you, and the City Paper, and every media outlet jumping on this, thanks a heap for ruining the unveiling tomorrow. I have tickets, and was really looking forward to it. But I guess it’s more important for you and other hackers to have your vindictive, destructive, spoilerish fun. Enjoy your “scoop.”

    BOOOOOOOO!!!!

[...] no reason to think the new/old color scheme will help the Caps in the team’s standings. (By the way, for all the team’s talk about [...]
