First Fort Reno Concert Announced

As of yesterday afternoon, the Web site for Fort Reno's annual concert series told visitors to "check back in May for [a] schedule" of this summer’s performances. With with only a week left in the month, organizers decided to throw D.C. music fans a bone.

Though the complete schedule has yet to be announced, the site has been updated this morning to include the date and lineup for the first performance: On Monday, June 18, Mass Movement of the Moth will perform with Deleted Scenes and Boom Orangutans. Those familiar with the District’s independent music scene will likely be familiar with MMotM’s hyperactive rock and Deleted Scenes' lazy-day-pop stylings; Boom Orangutans, which hail from Louisville, Ky., Boom Orangutangs will provide the riff-laden heavy rock local indie rock.

The Web site currently says that the full schedule will be coming soon. In an e-mail, show organizer Amanda MacKaye amends that description: More information, she says, will "come very very soon."
