If the true measure of an cultural movement's worth is its ability to take a joke, the Washington Color School is just fine: Tonight the D.C. Arts Center hosts the opening reception of Ian & Jan: The Undiscovered Duo, a send-up of color-field painting imagined by Meg Mitchell and City Paper contributor Jeffry Cudlin. Promised: "humorous commentary on Washington’s cultural legacy, on revisionist art historical agendas, and on gender bias and power politics in the arts."
