What do cops and the Redskins defensive line have in common? Neither can get to the quarterback.

Jeff Komlo, a former college All-American and NFL QB, is no longer the pride of Cheverly, Md. The DeMatha grad (class of ’74), who went on to play for the University of Delaware and the Detroit Lions, was featured on America’s Most Wanted in August 2005, after going on the lam while facing sentencing on a pair of DUI convictions in Chester County, a suburb of Philadelphia.

Komlo, who went into the insurance business after his football career ended, was also being investigated at the time in various jurisdictions for suspicious fires at two homes he owned, cocaine possession, assault, and money laundering in a multimillion dollar international fraud scheme. Komlo apparently figured that once the authorities got him, they wouldn’t let him go, and took off.

A spot on the long-running Fox show used to all but guarantee a quick capture, but info on the AMW Web site indicates that Komlo’s scramble is nearing the two-year mark. Those aware of Komlo’s whereabouts wishing to drop a dime on him can call 1-800-CRIME-TV. Tips on Whitey Bulger and Osama bin Laden are welcome, too.
