OK—so the Wilco album leaked this past weekend. And it's mellow as hell, very Steely Dan. Despite these developments, and in light of the fact that this is a Monday and we don't want to get Wilco's lawyers on our butts, we ain't posting any new Wilco here.

You know where to look anyways.

Instead—I recommend you start your work week with Times New Viking. They don't sound like Steely Dan. The recent Matador signees resemble Pavement if you only bought their first few 7-inches and said fuck it on the LPs. Please listen to "TeenageLUST." You will be glad you did.

    I know! The album is all mid tempo and just not very interesting compared with "A Ghost Is Born" and its krautrock/noise experiments.

    Seriously though... the 12-minute noise track on Ghost is a good thing because it was krautrock/experimental? C'mon... it sucked.

    Sure the tracks are not Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, but this is more the Wilco that cranked out Being There and the Mermaid albums and I, for one, am more than happy to have Jeff back...
