Fenty Fires Spokesperson

Alec Evans, spokesmen and top campaign aide to mayor-to-be Adrian Fenty, has been fired by the candidate just two weeks before the general election.

Evans confirms that he is no longer with the campaign and that his separation was not of his choosing. “It’s a shame to part ways so quickly after helping get someone elected,” Evans says. He refused to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his dismissal.

Evans, 27, was widely seen as a prime force behind the positive press coverage Fenty received during his campaign for the Democratic nomination.

Fenty could not immediately be reached for comment.

OK, let me get this straight: Fenty has decided to keep Sinclair Skinner on his payroll, but is firing Alec Evans? What?!?

Fenty needs to come clean on staff moves like this. Someone like Evans seemed to be about as loyal and hard working as it gets for an election campaign. To not be rewarded with a top spokesman/communications joob in a new administration is ludacrious.

In time, we will all regret electing Fenty when the secret war between Fenty and Gray breaksout.

Vincent Gray wants to be mayor and he will do all he can as Chair to hurt Fenty and you can be sure Catania and Schwartz will jump on Gray’s side.

    Alec is probably better off.

how else would bill rice get the spot?

What spot did Bill Rice get? He is a moron!

Dumping Alec Evans is proof of Fenty’s poor judgement.

DC will survive gov’t without Evans, but will it survive with Fenty?

Fenty listens to a cabal of idiotic advisors, each with his own hidden agenda, including racism.

Anyone who has spent more then ten minutes with Fenty realizes that he’s dumber than a bag of hammers.

    Buyer’s remorse. YOU BET!

Say hello to the Fenty administrations new communications advisor, Sinclair Skinner.

  8. Anonymous Says:

Maybe Fenty will hire Rees to head up the office of glbt affairs!

  9. Anonymous Says:

That might actually be better than Skinner.

I am not a fan of Fenty but after what Evans did for him, it was a bit dirty dumping him.

Don’t worry about Alec. He’s intelligent young, handsome, energetic . . .likes girls. In D.C., he’ll go far. I wish him all the best! What rubs me the wrong way on this is HOW Adrian fired him. I mean. . .after all time and hard work Alec put into the campaign, he deserved more than an early morning phone call saying he shouldn’t report to work today or ever again. That’s kinda foul!

    Is Evans single?
