Three Reasons to Stay Out of the Batcave

Three shows happening tonight:

Hume as the Phat Daughter Quartet
Bird Names (Chicago)
Benny Stoofy
@ La Casa, 3166 Mt. Pleasant St. NW, 8 p.m. All Ages.

I heard something about Hume being a dub-string quartet, but that might have been a recording-studio-only situation. Regardless, it should be interesting even if they leave the space-echo at home. Bird Names aren’t too bad either–psych-twee passing through on their way up to Baltimore for Whartscape.

Carol Bui
Poor But Sexy
The Caribbean
@ Velvet Lounge, 915 U St. NW, at 10 p.m. $8. 21+.

Poor but Sexy features Jason Caddell, formerly of the Dismemberment Plan. They seem to be bridging the gap between Hall & Oates and Smart Went Crazy.

Fever
True Womanhood
Pree
@ Dhalak, 1771 U St NW, Times TBD. 21+

True Womanhood is featured in this week’s One Track Mind.
