Photos: D.C. Goes to Chicago Riot Fest 2013

Dismemberment Plan surrounded by pouring rain (no effects added)

By the time ex-D.C. band The Dismemberment Plan hit the Roots Stage at Chicago's 2013 Riot Fest last weekend, the scene was more "Mud of Chicago" than "Ice of Boston" thanks to the full-on downpour in progress. But that didn't seem to dampen the crowd's spirits. (Overheard in the audience before D-Plan began: "I know I shouldn't be saying this, but I'm more excited to see The Dismemberment Plan than I am The Replacements.") Brian Baker and Bad Religion had played the same stage two days before, setting a high bar. Another ex-D.C. resident, Bob Mould, along with his bandmates Jason Narducy and Jon Wurster, battled the start of the rain just before D-Plan, but delivered (as expected) a blistering set anyway.

See photos from these sets in the gallery. Additional photos from all Riot Fest sets (including The Replacements, Rocket From the Crypt, Against Me!, Peter Hook & the Light, Blondie, Fall Out Boy, Rancid, Sublime, Masked Intruder, Pennywise, Dinosaur Jr, Guided by Voices, Mission of Burma, and The Pixies) can be seen here.
