Record Store Day: Which D.C. Record Stores Are Participating

Camping outside a box store waiting for Black Friday deals, for many people, is equivalent to hell on earth. So instead of getting trampled by a lunatic in search of a discounted Wii U this weekend, here's a better option: Record Store Day, Black Friday edition. Below is a list of local stores participating this Friday. For more information about official Record Store Day releases, visit the RSD website.

Red Onion Records: Participating. The shop is particularly excited about the Moonrise Kingdom score and Velvet Underground reissues.

Som Records: Participating. The shop will have an assortment of special releases.

Smash: Participating. The shop will have an assortment of special releases.

Crooked Beat: Opening early at 10 a.m. Selections include Beck's Sea Change, Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros' Live at Acton Town Hall, and records from Band of Horses, Lumineers, and Captain Beefheart, among others.

Joe's Record Paradise: Participating. The shop will have an assortment of special releases.

CD Cellar (both locations): Reissues from the Grateful Dead, Nirvana, Miles Davis, and more.
