Photos: Divine Fits @ 9:30 Club

For the eighth date on its two-month tour, indie-rock supergroup Divine Fits took the stage of the 9:30 Club last night with a particular fury. "We didn't get to do anything today in the nation's capital but see the inside of this building, so its nice to get onstage and expend some energy," said guitarist/vocalist Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade). "Yeah," said bassist/vocalist Britt Daniel (Spoon), "we weren't expecting this many people."

The band's set included tracks from its debut, A Thing Called Divine Fits, as well as covers, which lent some insight into its '70s and '80s influences. Boeckner took vocals on a lovely rendition of The Rolling Stones' 1971 song "Sway"; Daniels sang "Shiver," an old Nick Cave/Boys Next Door track from the late '70s, and the two shared the mic for "You Got Lucky" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
