On his website, D.C.’s Spyda the DJ classifies himself as a “versatile” turntablist whose heart is with Caribbean music, even if his grandfather didn’t want to hear it in the house. “I still managed to get in his groove and jam with him,” writes the Barbados-born, D.C.-based DJ.

So it’s no surprise that Spyda relies so heavily on reggae, soca, and Latin tunes. Released Tuesday, his latest mix, Dancehall Vol. 2, is a 79-minute excursion through Caribbean sounds, the likes of which might keep you winding through the night. Listen and download below.
