Going to Chuck Brown’s Funeral? Get There Early

If you're going to Chuck Brown's funeral tomorrow at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, get there early.

An advisory from Mayor Vince Gray's office just went out, with this warning highlighted in yellow text:

**DOORS OPEN TO PUBLIC AT 10:00 A.M.; SERVICE WILL BE CLOSED TO PUBLIC WHEN CAPACITY CROWD OF 14,500 IS REACHED

Officials also suggest taking Metro to the convention center. If you do get shut out, check here for streaming video coverage of the ceremony, assuming the D.C. government cable feed works as planned.

My prayers go out to Chuck's family. and ask God to give them strenght whenever they feel weak. My son grow up with Chucks music. I use to watch him at 16 yrs. old in his room with the door closed trying to dance to Chucks music to see how he would look dancing when he go out to parties. His little sister use to catch him all the time. (LOL) I guess he gets it from his mother (me). When I was 19 or 20 I use to ride the Wilson Line to Marshall Hall Park and party with Chuck during those days. those was the good old days. We will miss him. but, we still have his music and the for sure well live with us forever. Love, one of many of your fans. Karen G.
