For some reason, Maryland rapper Logic seems to fly under the radar in the DMV while generating big buzz elsewhere. Listening to his new mixtape, Young Sinatra: Undeniable, it seems the 22-year-old isn’t hung up on local love: “Got fans in L.A., got fans in N.Y., got fans down in Atlanta, and all the way to the Chi,” he rhymes on “World Wide,” which also includes adoring voice mails from fans in Tokyo, Brazil, and London.

On “Dead Presidents III,” Logic opens up about uncomfortable topics: his father’s drug use, getting kicked out of school, his mother getting stabbed. Elsewhere, the MC is downright bold as he forecasts his future: “Finna blow in the next three years, tops/Talkin’ worldwide, not just hip-hop.” That’s a bold statement, yet that confidence works here. Superstardom is uncertain, but Young Sinatra puts him on the right track.
