Over the next few days, you will find no shortage of blog posts dealing with this weekend’s chickfactor anniversary shows at Artisphere, which feature the first performance in more than 20 years by influential, noisy poppers Black Tambourine. (Yes, yes, disclosure: One of them works here.) Back in February, the group announced it had recorded an EP of Ramones covers; a more-than-fully funded Kickstarter campaign, and a download of their version of “What’s Your Game,” followed.

The latest drip-drip of Black Tambourine? A remix of the band’s “I Remember You” cover by New York pop wizards Violens. The shimmery, hyperactive vibe is appropriately early-’90s—-only it’s got a lot more XTC and early Aphex Twin than Slumberland in its sonic soup. The official label language calls its “junglist.”

Apparently there are more Black Tambourine remixes to come. Listen to and download Violens’ “I Remember You” remix below.
