There is no chance D.C. will get sick of Wild Flag anytime soon. The punk-classicist power quartet of Carrie Brownstein, Janet Weiss, Rebecca Cole, and D.C.’s Mary Timony performs tonight at 9:30 Club, and the show—-like all of Wild Flag’s previous D.C. dates—-is sold out.

At Saturday night’s show in Boston, Wild Flag broke out a cover I have to imagine they’ll reprise tonight in D.C.: Fugazi‘s “Margin Walker.” Brownstein takes the Guy Picciotto lead vocal; Weiss and Cole gang-sing Ian MacKaye‘s “yeah!” fills. Timony just shreds. It wasn’t just 2011, I guess. Every year is the year of the Fugazi cover.
