Warchild Slams Jager, Preserves Stereotypes at Rock & Roll Hotel
Rory Sheridan is a mild-mannered Silver Spring video editor by day. By night, he's a beer-swilling, alpha-male rock hero, cut from the same cloth as Megadeth's Dave Mustane.
Sheridan fronts the band Warchild, the headliner of tonight's headbanger-fest at Rock & Roll Hotel. Sometimes, Sheridan goes by Scott Rattler—frontman of local metal act Rattler. Yeah, that'd be the band that was banned from Black Cat for being too wild. Where is Scott Rattler gonna be tonight? "Up front... slamming Jager in my face," says Sheridan.
Warchild only has a few songs available via ReverbNation, including the ribald "Every Position," but Sheridan says a debut album is on the docket for later this year, and more Rattler shows are planned for this winter. At tonight's Warchild show, expect to hear originals and one cover, all of it fit for boozing. "The music is fast as shit and people enjoy drinking to it," he says. "Plus four male models are playing it for them, so that helps."
Warchild performs with Sistered and Nunchucks at 8:30 p.m. at The Rock and Roll Hotel, 1353 H St NE. $10.
