Following Backlash, Wale Will Appear at Black Pride Event
That's what Metro Weekly is reporting. At Sunday's Black Pride concert—which Wale backed out of last week, setting off accusations of homophobia—the D.C. rapper won't be performing a full set and he won't be taking a fee. Instead, D.C. Black Pride spokesperson Earl Fowkes says Wale will "make a guest appearance and a comment about the situation and we felt like that was appropriate." J. Holiday, who stepped in to take Wale's place, will still perfrom a full set.
