A great show. Around an hour and 40 minutes. VFT’s raw, rocking guitar playing live is so impressive (no holding a pick between thumb and index finger for him; instead he has a pick-like thing attached to the tip of his index finger that he uses to make certain sounds while his other bottom hand fingers move in other directions on the strings). The percussion (djembe, calabash, and trap drum set) was pretty awesome as well. Various guests throughout the set- from the folks mentioned above in prior comments to members of the opening bands and dancers and Malians spraying VFT with dollar bills.

Thanks for the kind and insightful words. But pls rectify the name of the artist performing tomorrow night at RRH ; it would be quite miraculous if Ali Farka Toure indeed made the gig…Vieux Farka Toure will be there however!
