		<description>while many people describe Bewley as minimalist this doesn&#039;t mean simple. he used a very few carefully crafted notes, often played in some idiosycratic way or with a very limited sound effect like extreme compression. He seemed to be playing areas of the guitar neck previously ignored and so his single instrument became like many instruments.  I think Gravity and Danger (the ORIGINAL please) are among his greatest achievements.

Bewley and Ricky Wilson were very different but were both largely responsible for the streamlined sound that hit in the late 70s. Bewley was the more daring of the two and thus Pylon didn&#039;t cut it with a wider and ignorant public.

I think he was a lone wolf genius. sadly the guitar has gone back to it&#039;s wimpy role as a power tool.

so much for progress in American rock. 

I&#039;m really sad about his passing.  Why so young.</description>
