You seem eminently qualified to pen that Lungfish book. I could make a pretty good argument for Bruce Springsteen's "The Wild, the Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle" and Godpseed's "f# a# (infinity symbol)" or "Let Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven."
Thanks for directing my attention to a pretty good waste of time. Would you particularly recommend any of the current titles? I'd like to pick up the (forthcoming?) title on "36 Chambers of Death," which is one of my Top 10 albums of the 90s.

Oh, good catch.

Last year I was in Tampa for a night and I met this guy at a show who, once he found out that I lived in DC, insisted on pulling up his shirt to show me the giant Emergency & I cover art tattoo he had inked across his chest. "Travis knows," he told me. "He's into it." Could this be the guy that pitched the book? I wonder.

You can't talk about D.C. bands and leave out The Dismemberment Plan's "Emergency & I."
