Over its 75-year history, the American Ballet Theatre has been home to the lions of 20th-century dance. The Library of Congress explores the history of “America’s National Ballet Company ®” (so declared in a 2006 act of Congress) in the exhibition “American Ballet Theatre: Touring the Globe for 75 Years.” Dozens of works from the ABT collection—-including photographs, scores, costume sketches, programs, and posters—-make their way to the LOC to give dance fans a stronger grasp on the American Ballet Theater’s cultural significance.
