ToDo ToDay: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Sun Kil Moon, and a Hemingway Birthday Celebration

dogIs it the only book in history to get high marks from your aunt’s suburban book club, your 13-year-old neighbor, and your English-major friend who finds Jonathan Franzen prosaic? Yes, probably. And in 2012, Mark Haddon’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was translated into a similarly appealing theatrical production at London’s National Theatre. The initial peculiarity of watching a play broadcast live rather than performed in front of you quickly dissipates, and the weirdly engrossing story of an English teen, a dead dog, and family secrets takes hold.
