ToDo ToDay: Six Americans, the Knocks, and Asher Roth

smithIn addition to hosting touring musicals and ballet companies, the Kennedy Center cultivates young artists through partnerships with arts organizations nationwide. On Monday, six alumni of the National Endowment for the Arts’ Young Artists’ program will present original scenes that examine the program’s history and impact, as well as the performers’ understanding of American identity. The young artists who crafted the scenes work with distinguished performers like Anna Deavere Smith and Marisa Tomei to hone their theatrical skills, then share their completed pieces with an audience at the Kennedy Center. All drinks are half off during happy hour from 4 to 5 p.m., with prices increasing by $1 every hour until 7 p.m. Read more about the restaurant on Young & Hungry.
