ToDo ToDay: Michael Ian Black, Foul Swoops, and Hudson Mohawke

MIBMichael Ian Black has had his hands in a lot of cookie jars over the years—first as a member of The State’s comedy collective, and later for his roles in Wet Hot American Summer and the TV series Ed. Even if Black is a little older and slightly less awkward now, expect a few summer camp references to sneak into his set. On Twitter, Black entreated fans to see him live by describing this tour as “overpriced, slightly disappointing comedy!!!” But that’s what you get from Black’s brand of humor—some thought-provoking, well-worded self-deprecation. Cafe Deluxe opened a new location in the West End last week—its second spot in the District and fifth in the region. Located on the first level of the new Hilton Garden Inn, the American bistro is open from breakfast through dinner with dishes like grilled salmon, braised boneless short ribs, and chicken pot pie.
