How much are we willing to sacrifice to appease our families? The characters in Jon Robin Baitz’s Other Desert Cities, now playing at Arena Stage, frequently grapple with this issue, but any sort of consensus between family members seems out of reach. When Brooke, the Wyeth family’s only daughter, returns to celebrate Christmas with her family after a six-year estrangement, she announces that she’s going to publish a memoir based on a family tragedy others would like to keep quiet. What is for Brooke a therapeutic act seems to others a mortal sin, and the Wyeth brand of dysfunction reaches new heights. Frederik de Pue's new European-style seafood restaurant Azur is launching its bar menu and happy hour today from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The menu offers a break from the pricey cocktail menu, which includes several cocktails over $20 and one that's $40. Happy hour specials include $5 drafts, $6 martinis, and $1 oysters. The bar menu includes dishes like uni toast, mini fish and chips, chicken lollipos with chimichurri sauce, and more.
