ToDo ToDay: Joseph Gordon-Levitt! DGS Delicatessen!
When Joseph Gordon-Levitt first hosted Saturday Night Live, his monologue was a performance of “Make ’Em Laugh.” He sang, danced, flipped, and generally beat himself up. Clearly, he is a showman, and he wants our attention. Fortunately, plenty of us are still willing to give him what he wants. Tonight, JGL stops by the Warner Theatre on his tour with hitRECord, the “open-collaborative production company” he helped found. “HitRECord on the Road with Joseph Gordon-Levitt” begins at 8 p.m. at the Warner Theatre, 513 13th St. NW. $24.50–$48.50. Long-awaited DGS Delicatessen is finally bringing pastrami and white fish to the masses. The restaurant soft-opened over the weekend and will have its grand opening on Wednesday (and it's open today). Former Mendocino Grille and Tallula chef Barry Koslow is putting a modern take on many Jewish deli classics at the sandwich shop and bar, and he'll be brining, curing, and smoking all the meats, fish, and pickles in-house. Look for sandwiches like corned beef and pastrami as well as matzo ball soup, chopped liver, knishes, and a number of entrees and desserts. Check out the full menu here.
