ToDo ToDay: Get Outraged
Politics these days is full of phony outrage. Someone affiliated with the Democratic Party says Ann Romney hasn’t worked a day in her life? Quick, start demanding apologies! The cable news networks, in fact, are so full of artificial umbrage that it’s easy to forget what real raging indignation sounds like. Until you hear Lewis Black, of course. Black’s regular sets on The Daily Show and HBO specials are full of sputtering, arm-waving, laugh-to-keep-from-crying moments, all sparked by the legitimately impudent things that go on in federal Washington every day. OH AND ALSO
Plenty of bands spend way less than two days making their video promos, so participating in the 48 Hours Film Music Video Project was probably a snap for local filmmakers and musicians. Do I need to explain how this thing worked? See the results of the ad-hoc collaborations tonight at 7:15 and 9 p.m. at AFI Silver Theatre, 8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring. $10.
