ToDo ToDay: Horse Photography, Rum, and Techno

Charlotte Dumas, an Amsterdam- and New York-based photographer, is probably best known for her series documenting the rescue dogs of 9/11. But that project is just one of Dumas’ several animal series, four of which the Corcoran is showing as part of their ongoing Dumas exhibit, “Anima.” One of her most compelling series focuses on the burial horses of Arlington National Cemetery. OH AND ALSO

Electronic-music writer Philip Sherburne once wrote about the "unspoken bond between photography and techno." Tonight, they're presented side by side in a photography/techno night (with cheap drinks!) at The Dunes. 6 p.m. at 1402 Meridian Place. $3.

Beloved singer Eva Cassidy died of cancer at age 33, 16 years ago. But her fans haven't forgotten the Maryland native's seminal recordings—or the mark she left on the local music scene. A range of musicians pay tribute to Cassidy at Strathmore tonight. Some tickets still remain. 8 p.m. at Strathmore Music Center, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda. $25.
