A Hard Look at Monticello: The National Museum of African American History breaks ground this month, but it won't be complete until 2015. Still, its scholarly work has already begun. Its first show—now up at the National Museum of American History—is "Slavery at Jefferson’s Monticello: Paradox of Liberty," which looks at the views of the third president and the slaves who lived and worked at his plantation.
