Arts Roundup: In a Good Place Now Edition

Video Vixens: Per Prince of Petworth, Vetiver recorded a sweet music video in and around the general Columbia Heights area. Also per Prince of Petworth, Miss America 2010 shot a music video in the same neighborhood yesterday. In a call for volunteers, the project was described as such: "A 'flash choir' consisting of HIV+ and HIV- performers, identified as such by colorful badges that first hang around necks, then are tossed in a trash can to symbolize how insignificant HIV status will be in a post-stigma world."

The Graphic Designer Strikes Back: It's been known for some time that Lance Wyman, the original designer of the iconic D.C. Metro map, will make a second appearance, 30 years later, to give the map a facelift as new lines are added to the system. The Washington Post profiled 72-year-old Wyman over the weekend, and DCist has some additional thoughts.

Not Micachu, But Definitely Jewelry: Rachel Pfeffer makes jewelry...and she made a song about it, too. TBD talks with Pfeffer, who "has been making jewelry full-time for the past year and a half or so. She has a facility for marketing, she says, and 'figured if I could write a funny jewelry song, I thought it could give me some buzz.'" The song itself, called "Jewelry All Day," is gratingly catchy.

Yesterday on Arts Desk: Marginal Man reunites! Sweet Tea Pumpkin Pie Fest might've been weird, but kinda worth it! A protest, and dancing, but now what?
