Night Editor had some great twists & turns & a nasty femme fatale - then in the final moments, the Hollywood Happy Ending undid the whole thing! Should be recut with the last few minutes excised - it'd be a much better movie. Shakedown was a testament to heedless ambition - Howard Duff had charm because he was so blunt about his behavior. But posing people in trouble so he could photograph them - whew! Worse than paparazzi. Dbl feature last night: "Night Editor" & "Shakedown".
