Starting Tomorrow: The Way We Get By

The Way We Get By follows Bill Knight, Joan Gaudet, and Jerry Mundy, three retired residents of Bangor, Maine, who have met every incoming flight from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.

I don’t recommend* movies often–so many of them suck–but I’m tellin’ ya: You should see this movie. It will make small gestures seem gigantic, and will help you feel human. If you’re not the kind of person who has a problem feeling human, this movie will make you feel extra human.

We reviewed it for Silver Docs, and Tessa Moran interviewed director Aron Gaudet around the same time.

Starting tomorrow, The Way We Get By is showing for a week at the AMC Shirlington. It drops on DVD Nov. 4.

*I do, however, write incredibly amazing movie-poster blurbs. Call me before you call Peter Travers. I’ll say wild things about your movie for next to nothing.
