Our favorite restaurant in Washington DC is Jyoti Indian Cuisine located in Adam's Morgan. Our favorite waiter in the whole district is Salim, who works at Jyoti. He is very friendly, curteous, and funny. If you love indian food or would like to taste indian food, we recommend Jyoti. And..... ask to be hosted by Salim, the funny man.

Nepalese and Indian cuisine are almost similiar.So if any Nepalese wants to try some taste back from Nepal, I highly recommend Jyoti Indian cuisine at Adam's Morgan.It's really nice. And you can see some Nepali waiters also.

I second: best yarn store, best thrift store, best mediteranean (I think that's what the geographically challenged person above meant when she said to substitute "middle eastern" for moroccan), best closed venue (it was difficult to stick to still-open venues in some categories -- and for coffee shop I couldn't not choose Sparky's -- it had to get in there somehow), best hooha wax. Also -- it wasn't clear if we could choose places in MD and VA. I did anyway, since I find myself venturing out to the monolithic strip malls for many of my basic needs. Now that big box stores and chains are taking over DC, some of the best, cheapest, and most unique places have moved, or have always been, outside of our little geometric borders. Best hardware store? Strosnider's of course.

District Hardware/The Bike Shop: This is by far the best hardware and bike shop in the District. These long-time owners (40-some years) are friendly and very helpful; they will go that extra step to help you find the "unattainable." I have enjoyed the convenience of city living for a number of years and find this small family hardware store unbeatable. This store is a "stone's throw" from my home, and our two teen-agers appreciate the short walk to pop in and see the latest they have to offer in the way of maintaining their bikes. Thanks, District Hardware, for being by our side for all these years.

District Hardware/Bike Shop is one of the best stores in DC. People know their business, are friendly and don't try to give you something that you don't need or want. The Bike Shop guys know what they are talking about, too. I also like the fact that these guys have been around for over 30 years. I have always had a good experience with them and hope they are around for many years to come.

great concept with District Hardware and the Bike Shop together. Helpful people that know their jobs. The hardware store has just about everything that you could need or want and if they don't have it, they'll get it for you. The bike shop has mechaniics who know everything about bikes and will look at your bike and tell you what you need and what you don't need to spend money on. How unusual to have someone tell you that you don't need something. Great place.

The best bike shop would definently have to be District Hardware. The people there are very welcoming and know thier stuff. It is very orginized and clean with friendly helpers all over the store. Whenever I need something and I think it's there, 9 out of 10 times it is. The prices are very reasonable and I also love how they allow dogs in there.

The best bike shop is at the new District Hardware on 24th street. A lot of people still haven't found thier way there but it's great spot for all your hardware needs and they have a wonderful houseware section. The help is so knoweldgable that you will walk out happy.

My favorite bike shop is District Hardware. What a knoweldgeable staff they have there on 21 streer. I really enjoy shopping in such a clean, nice and local enviroment. They have the best bikes in D.C. not to mention thier great hardware selection. If you don't go there already, you should defintly check it out.

Even though I haven't been to Peru I am a real Peruvian food groupie and have been to a dozen or so of the places in the DC area offering it.
They all have strenths and weaknesses but by far the best, hands down, is Las Canteras in Adams Morgan. Basically if you've had the Ceviche there or the Lomo Saltado or Pisco Sours you can go ahead to Heaven.
