Former Councilmember Michael Brown hit a pretty rough patch last year. He accused his campaign treasurer of stealing more than $110,000, which prompted his treasurer’s attorney to accuse Brown of all sorts of wrongdoing. Marion Barry attacked Brown’s character from the D.C. Council dais. And Brown lost big in the November election to a virtually unknown mystery hippie named David Grosso. But even when he was down, Brown, with few exceptions, looked sharp. Thanks to expensive-looking suits and a watch collection that seems to number somewhere close to infinity, Brown usually stood out from the rough-hewn crew that inhabits the Council. Though he’s no longer seeking a place back among his former colleagues, he’s a better dresser than all of them.
